Who We Are

Full Ahead Apparel was founded by Patrick Goldsmith. Patrick grew up on Long Island and has an affinity for being on the water. He is a third-generation Merchant Mariner, and it is often said that salt water runs through his veins due to his rich family history in the maritime industry.

Both Patrick's father and grandfather studied Marine Transportation at New York Maritime, sailed in the US Merchant Marines, and worked in the maritime industry. Patrick's great grandfather walked the shores of Long Island in the US Coast Guard during WWII to spot German U-Boats off the coast; his great-great grandfather owned fishing boats in New York Harbor; and his great uncle sailed as Chief Officer on the SS United States during her Blue Riband voyage.

In hopes of living a life tied to the sea, Patrick majored in Marine Engineering at Massachusetts Maritime Academy and took additional courses to obtain a limited tonnage deck license. Patrick currently sails deep sea in the US Merchant Marines and during his time off of the ship, he can be found fishing or working as a private captain for “Full Ahead Marine”.
